President: Linda Bronson
Linda
Bronson returns as the 41st President of the Almaden Valley Women’s
Club. As President, she will be responsible for all operations of the
AVWC. An active member since 1996, Linda has served as Festival Chair,
Festival Co-Chair, and Food Booth Chair. Her committee experience
includes Scholarship, Funds Disbursement, Glasses, Children’s Area,
Equipment, and Operations.
Linda
graduated cum laude from Siena Heights College in Adrian, Michigan
where she double majored in English and History, with a minor in
Philosophy. She has been married for over 30 years and has two
children, ages 26 and 22. Except for a three-year absence, the Bronsons
have lived in Almaden Valley since 1979.
Linda
loves old movies, remodeling homes, gardening, and, though she is an
avid user of email, she enjoys using a fountain pen to write letters on
beautiful stationary.
1st Vice President, Fundraising: Cindy Griffeth
After
successfully moving the festival to Almaden Lake Park last year, Cindy
Griffeth returns to oversee the 29th Annual Almaden Valley Art &
Wine Festival. Cindy joined the AVWC in 1998. She has served as
2nd VP of Membership and chaired or co-chaired several festival
committees including Entertainment, Beverages, and Hospitality/Logo.
Cindy
is the mother of two girls, ages 11 and 9. She actively volunteers at
Bret Hart Middle School and Graystone Elementary, where she was on the
Home and School Club for 4 years. She enjoys crafts and long walks.
2nd Vice President, Membership: Julie Miller
As
2nd VP of Membership, Julie Miller will guide the 2005 membership class
and recruit new members. Since joining in 2003, she has served as VP of
Programs, co-chaired festival Parking and Electricity, and chaired the
club’s June Friendship Dinner.
Julie
has lived in Almaden Valley for 28 years. After attending Mesa College
in San Diego, where she majored in Child Development, she returned to
Almaden Valley to raise her family. Her sons, ages 10 and 8 ½, attend
Williams Elementary. Julie also is charge of an annual Boy Scouts
of America day camp. She enjoys running.
3rd Vice President, Programs: Jennifer Coelho
As
3rd VP in charge of Programs, Jennifer Coelho will coordinate guest
speakers for the AVWC monthly meetings. She has chaired Secret Sister,
Beverages, Publicity, and Scheduling. She has also served on the Funds
Disbursement, Scholarship, Glasses, and Silent Auction committees.
Jennifer is a member of the AVWC because she is interested in
supporting the community and enjoys spending time with the many friends
she’s made in the organization.
Secretary: Pamela Eades
Pamela
Eades will serve as the Executive Board’s Secretary and be responsible
for taking meeting minutes handling the club’s business
correspondences. She has served as the club’s Newsletter Editor for 3
years.
Pamela
moved to Almaden in 1974. She majored in Computer Science at Chico
State and worked for several years in software engineering and
marketing at a major computer vendor. Her son attends Castillero Middle
School, where she coaches his Lego team.
Treasurer: Laurie Greer
As Treasurer, Laurie Greer will be responsible for the financial organization of the club.
Laurie
grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and attended the University of Iowa, where
she graduated with a B.A. in Communications and Public Relations with a
minor in Counseling. She has lived in Almaden Valley for 8 years and is
the mother of 3 boys ages 15, 13, and 10. Laurie is an active volunteer
at William’s Elementary, Bret Harte Middle School, and Bellarmine
College Preparatory. Laurie enjoys gardening, vegetables and bulbs
being her favorites, trying new recipes and decorating her home.
Parliamentarian: Janice LaVelle
As
Parliamentarian, Janice LaVelle will continue to provide advice and
assistance to the board as needed. During her 16 years of service in
the AVWC, she has served as VP of Fundraising, VP of Membership, Club
Treasurer, Festival Treasurer, and Club Social Chair. After playing a
key role in nearly every festival committee and chairing Glasses,
Artists, and Equipment, Janice took the helm and chaired the 26th
Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival.
A
native Californian, Janice grew up in the Bay Area and the Central
Valley. She earned her degree in Secondary Education from CSU Fresno
and worked as a teacher after moving to Almaden Valley 20 years ago.
She has been married to husband Dave for 26 years and has three
children ages 15, 12, and 8. Janice is a Sustainer in the Junior
League of San Jose and actively volunteers at Presentation High School,
Holy Spirit School, and Williams Elementary. She enjoys golf, walking,
reading, re-modeling homes, and spending time at the beach.

needs of the Almaden community and those of greater San Jose, through
funds raised at our annual Art & Wine Festival. Our mission is to
provide charitable financial assistance to non-profit children's
foundations, educational facilities, teen programs and community
